Rumor has it that I know a thing or two about the power of pictures, visual presentation and the internet amongst other things so on the basis that Jess also knows what she is talking about, I guess I had better put my hands up and say it’s a fair cop Jess and I will spill the beans lol

Before I blow wide open a few myths about the internet, pictures and marketing

First a disclaimer:

I have known Jess for many years and whilst I work and collaborate closely with on her business, I have no financial interest in her business, she is the outright owner and as such makes and sets her own policy decisions

Having got that out of the way, let us begin

Well what an interesting few weeks it has been for potential new escorts and one that had joined but never even got off the starting blocks

This blog is almost certainly going to ruffle a few feathers, not of the lovely ladies that already work for Jess but those who might be thinking of and for those that never got off the starting block

So let’s start by blowing away a few myths, there is a film called “Build it and they will come” it is about a farmer building a baseball pitch in the middle of nowhere and dead players came to play on the pitch a fun film but it is the title that really grabbed me and I have often used the film as an illustration to my other clients (who by the way are not in any way related to this industry I only advise and carry out work for one client in this industry and that is Jess)

With the internet it is not a case of just building it and they will come, the building of a website is only just the foundation to getting people to visit a website, you then have to drive traffic to it in as large a quantity as possible – the technicalities of which I will not bore you with, suffice to say it is an ongoing thing with new ideas coming along every week

It is widely acknowledged in the industry that you have less than 10 seconds to hold and keep the interest of a person landing on your page

So it is not difficult to work out why it is so important to have high quality provocative enticing pictures, in fact to really put this into context here is a short true story – Several years ago I was in John Menzies when they used to sell men’s magazines and I was behind two guys who were looking at a set of mine in Knave and I heard one say to the other “bloody hell I would love to @!:@*!*@ – well I am sure you know what I mean” Proof positive that pictures are a visual stimulation and worth a thousand words

Below are just a few reasons why you must have good pictures

• Every day there are more and more people becoming escorts so your competition is increasing all of the time

• Crap pictures just will not cut it

• Yes I know there are dozens of adult listing sites out there with dozens upon dozens of rubbish pictures on, which is fine if you want to play at this and just earn pin money

• But you see Jess does not play at this, she is running a business and sets high standards, so if you just want pin money or to play at this, do not even bother to apply

• Good pictures also give you credibility and increase your respect threshold in the eyes of the client – having seen listing upon listing of tacky pictures shot in untidy bedrooms and front rooms I cannot begin to imagine to think what goes through the mind of some clients, maybe for some of them it floats their boat but I am prepared to bet that it puts a larger majority off

• When a client is paying good money for an appointment they have the right to expect to see good quality pictures and unlike many of the London Agencies we do not Photoshop our pictures to turn a size 14/16 into a size 12 with an all over tan perfect skin and looking like you have just stepped out of the gym or a Hollywood film set

So ok, maybe because of circumstances you may not live in the ideal place, but at the very least you can make the effort to tidy the place up, throw a half decent duvet cover over the bed or sofa and put on some decent underwear – in other words make the bloody effort because if you do not, it just tells Jess that you are not committed to this and in fact think it is just an easy way of earning money without putting any effort in – If you see it this way, frankly in my opinion you are a total waste of space

There is a huge difference in a person trying to do it right and a person just not bothering

So let’s take a look at several of the saga’s that have happened over the past few weeks

Example one:

In this example I was directly involved, having myself briefed the photographer and his assistant as to what pictures were required, given them links to several of Jess’s websites and likewise Jess had briefed the girl and even sent her sample pictures

The girl goes along to the photographer, he takes 20 pics of her, not one topless and not one that I would call provocative or enticing, to make matters worse the girl in question is not going to be showing her face, which is why it was even more important to have topless and as enticing and provocative shots as not showing your face does put you at a disadvantage to those who do, but this can be partially cancelled out if you have the right pictures

My parting words to the photographer and his sidekick was “if you have any problems call Jess, it is important that we have topless picture” did they ring – did they ring did they f@@@k

It turns out that the girl in question told them she did not want any topless pics even after Jess telling her what pictures she needed, even more absurd considering she had sent topless pics with her application

The end result she has paid a lot of money out to end up with a bunch of pictures that are highly unlikely to get her any work!

Example Two:

Well on this one you would no doubt have seen the blog about a woman from Newcastle, again she took no notice of anything that Jess had told her, she also had chosen not to come for an interview and thought that to travel to Jess’s photographer was too far, she also chose to use a local photographer and done her own thing

My comments about the pictures she had taken were “A rabbit with sun glasses on could have taken better pictures”

She has since sent Jess some more pictures which are just more of the same and in no way useable
It’s unfortunate really as there is work to be had in Newcastle and the surrounding areas and yes maybe she does not have very much money but she cannot see the bigger picture, if she had to make 2 trips down from Newcastle she would have got that back and more on the appointments she would have got
Whilst nothing is guaranteed in life, Jess would not take someone on if she did not think that they could make money, as it would be just wasting the woman’s time and hers

In the past I have had ladies come from Edinburgh & Glasgow to have their pictures taken

Example Three:

Now this particular lady did come along to see Jess towards the end of March and sent Jess some pics around about the second week of April to tide her over whilst she was waiting for me to shoot her pictures

The picture quality left a lot to be desired, what also concerned me was the look on her face of total disinterest

So ok the person taking her pictures was not professional photographer, and maybe she did not enjoy having the pictures taken by him

So we get the pictures I struggle to get three partially useable ones, run them through photoshop to bring up the contrast a bit and sharpen them up (nothing else)

The pictures go up, she does not get any interest, which comes as no surprise to me, but the lady in question does not see it quite the same way in fact she rings Jess up saying she was very disappointed that she had received no bookings and the partner was to be heard muttering in the background “that he would not click on her profile as he thought the thumbnail was crap and not enticing”. Well my comment is you shot the bloody pictures and if you knew that why even bother to send them to Jess. you should have took a bit more effort!

I switched out the thumbnail at eleven o’clock that evening and the following day something else happened (which I will not elaborate on) and Jess informed her that she would not be working for the agency because of what had happened

In my opinion having looked at the pictures, I think they thought that any old picture would do and to be honest the woman looked totally disinterested and if I am honest my gut feeling was that the partner was pulling her strings which is something I feel really strongly about

If you are going to do this job do it because you want to do it and not because somebody else thinks that it is a good idea to earn some easy money

This occupation can be very rewarding but in order to reap the rewards you need to have the following

• Commitment

• Professionalism

• Have the right attitude

• Be prepared to reinvest part of your earnings back into new underwear clothes etc

• To actually want to do this job not just for moneys sake but because you also enjoy what you do

• Above all have decent pictures and have them shot to Jess’s requirements and not what you want

With the quality of digital cameras on the market even the cheap ones at around 85-120 pounds, it is really not that difficult to take half decent pictures so there is really no real excuse to send in crap pictures

Moreover with half decent pictures you could be up and runing in days and be having the chance to earn money

Where some independent escorts just play at this and some agencies struggle to promote their ladies – Jess has a wealth of experience and resources to promote her lovely ladies

So ask yourself this

Do you want to just keep on treading water and get nowhere or do you want to be part of a team, that works as a team and where the girls safety and well being is paramount

At the end of the day the choice is yours

But crap pictures and a crap attitude will get you nowhere! that you can be absolutely sure of
